What are the Application of High Alumina Brick?

What is High Alumina Brick?

High-alumina refractories are produced from bauxite, an ore naturally containing aluminum hydroxide (Al[OH]3) and kaolinitic clays, that is processed through roasting to produce synthetic alumina and mullite (3Al2O3*2SiO2). These raw materials then form the basis for producing these high-alumina products.

High Alumina Brick is a type of refractory brick constructed from premium-grade bauxite, sillimanite and alumina materials. Produced through an advanced process with strict quality controls, this multi-industrial product finds use across numerous industrial furnaces to increase furnace productivity.

High Alumina bricks boast excellent properties such as high temperature performance, corrosion and wear resistance, high bulk density and low iron content, among others. As such, High Alumina bricks find extensive use across numerous industries including mining, metallurgy, cement production, chemical refineries and refractories – such as mining. Their use extends from electric arc furnace roofs, steel ladles to cement rotary kiln coolers (cement rotary kiln and its cooler), lime kilns (lime kiln), Aluminum melting furnaces used in chemical refineries, reheating furnaces/soaking pits as well as glass tank furnace/regenerators applications.)

Beneficial Properties of High Alumina Brick

High alumina brick boasts low iron content, giving it high bulk density and lengthening its lifespan, making it a suitable material for kiln lining brick. Furthermore, due to their resistance against friction and thermal shock resistance as your furnace heats and cools, high alumina brick may remain cracked-free or crumble-resistant for significantly longer than conventional fire brick.

Alumina’s natural corrosion and wear resistance make it an excellent material choice when working with chemicals that can be corrosive or abrasive, such as laboratories and industrial plants that utilize such substances. High alumina brick is highly valued by these industries.
